Become a Canada Career Month Champion

BECOME A CANADA CAREER MONTH CHAMPION AND HELP US BRING THE CONVERSATION TO THE FOREFRONT

This year, we are looking for a group of passionate Canadians to help us have a successful conversation about the skills that our workforce possesses and how we can successfully self-market those to employers. Our careers are intricately linked with our lives, and too many Canadians are having trouble finding the Career that truly fulfills that. There are many resources that can help, but too many of us are unaware of their existence or their impact. We'd like to reach as many Canadians as possible and help them inventory and self-market their transferable skills.

We can't do it alone. We need your help. As a Champion, you will work closely with the Canada Career Month team to reach the right industries and individuals, to recommend and help organize events, and, if interested, can even lead your own event during Career Month 2018. Send us an e-mail below, and join us as we take the conversation on Career Development to Canadians.

You should be a Champion if...

You are passionate about Career Development

You are interested in getting Canadians involved in our conversation this November

You are excited to work closely with employers and our team in planning this year's Career Month.

This program is certainly one of those "it will be what you make it" scenarios. If you are someone that wants to be very involved in different components of Career Month, then that may be a larger time commitment. If instead you just want to be involved in spreading the word, inviting Canadians, or helping with events, then the time constraint really is minimal.

Question

What are the time requirements for this role?

We envision that our Champions Committee will be most helpful in us being able to reach into different communities and industries in Canada. A typical Champion may be asked to help with outreach and sharing the Career Month Message, with giving the team their perspective or advice on planning questions, and, if interested, can even volunteer to help with organizing and leading one of our events!

Question

What about roles? What is my main responsibility?

Yes, this is a volunteer position. However, you get to work alongside the very best in the Career Development industry, organizing a nationwide, month-long celebration of the skills of Canadians. We are certain the experience will expose you to incredible opportunities, change your perspective, and leave you much better placed in understanding the workforce in Canada and how it can be better.
